Wednesday, March 14, 2018

On the 30th of January, about 40 people participated in a matchmaking event on Smart Plastics organized in Lyon (France) by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises – as a member of Enterprise Europe Network -, Plastipolis and Watify.

Opening the event, Annabel André-Laurent, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Vice-president for Business, Employment, Economic Development, Trade, Craft sector and liberal professions, started by highlighting Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes strengths as one of the leading economic and industrial European region and the first on a national scale. She also insisted on the need to increase the region visibility on a European level through the 4 Motors for Europe or the Vanguard Initiative that gathers together the leading European industrial regions.

Then, regional and European initiatives on Smart Plastics, such as Vanguard initiative or Watify, were presented to the participants. The speakers highlighted the opportunities they offer to the companies and organizations that joined such initiatives.

The afternoon was focused on networking between the French and international participants (companies, laboratories, clusters) during B2B meeting and organized networking sessions.

The main objective of this event was to inform companies of the European actions and initiatives related to the topic of Smart Plastics and to make them aware of the existing regional strengths such as the Vallée de la Plasturgie or the future Cité de la Plastronique.
