In 2018, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes was the most represented french region at the CES.

The CES is the world's largest show dedicated to new technologies. In 2018, it welcomed more than 180,000 visitors from around the world and nearly 4,000 exhibitors. For the first time, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes organized a regional promotion booth at the heart of Eureka Park, the dedicated place for start-ups. This year, 9 start-ups from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes won 13 CES Innovation Awards, including 1 Best of Innovation. Ark, Aryballe Technologies, Euveka, EyeSee, Monkey Factory, Oria / Enhancia, Short Edition, Yesitis, and Lancey Energy Storage (Best of Innovation) are the winners of this CES 2018.

An Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes team to support start-ups

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes delegation was led by Annabel André-Laurent and Juliette JARRY, Vice Presidents of the region. A team bringing together the Region Council, clusters (Minalogic, Digital League), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Enterprises and their partners was on the event to support start-ups.

For the first time, a partnership has been concluded with the EM Lyon and GEM Grenoble business schools to support the internationalization of companies. Students worked for start-ups before, during and after the event. This service was part of a programm called "On the road to CES". It was offered to regional companies by the Minalogic cluster and included training in pitch session, social networks, booth design, press relations, regulatory environment, competitive intelligence...

The CES permitted to highlight the assets of our territory, #1 industrial region of France and #2 region of France in terms of employees in the digital industry. Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises animated the regional area during the 4 days of the show. The agency organized business meetings with a dozen of foreign companies which could invest in our region. It also organized personalized meetings between investors, VC and regional start-ups. The Agency also organized a meeting between regional companies interested in the US market and "the French Cluster", a club of entrepreneurs based in the United States.
